Connect to the Retail3000 API
The RetailVista ERP platform is a multi-tenant and multi-instance system. Before accessing data, users must determine the appropriate URL or instance to connect to. There are both production and test environments available, with the test environment intended for integration development and testing. It safeguards live data from unwanted manipulation and protects the live environment from high-impact requests caused by non-production-ready code. However, it's important to note that test environments may not be identical to production environments in terms of data and performance. They are independent systems, so changes made in the production environment do not affect the test environment. The possibility of offering a sandbox from the production environment as a test environment is being explored, but it is considered a costly solution. Interested parties should contact the sales department for more information on testing with production data.
The RetailVista ERP platform is a multi-tenant and multi-instance platform which means that you can’t simply connect to it and start reading data. The first step is to determine which URL or instance of the RetailVista platform you should connect to. Both a production- and test environment are available for most instances. The test environment is to be used for developing and testing your integration. The test environment prevents unwanted manipulation of live data and protects our live environment against high impact requests due to code which isn’t production ready yet. You should keep in mind that most test environments are not an exact copy of a production environment. Both the data and performance can differ heavily when compared to the production URL because the test and production systems don't have any relation with each other. So data manipulated in a production environment is not reflected in a test environment.
We are investigating the option to offer a sandbox from the production environment as test environment. It seems to be technically possible, but it's a relative expensive solution. Please contact our sales department if this might be an option for testing with production data.
