Add a deposit to an item

This is in connection with € 0.15 deposit on PET bottles as of July 1, 2021

Concise description

To add a deposit to the products, it is best to link a Deposit product to the product in question (bottle/can). In this case, the deposit product is a related product.

The deposit product must be created with a 0% VAT rate and is a "non-revenue" product. Non-revenue product: Fill in classifications and set "Revenue product" to No on the Sales tab.

Then you link this product to the product for which the deposit applies.

Go to the "Related" tab for this product and add the deposit product here.  

After clicking on the edit icon, RetailVista first asks what type of related product it is. Enter "Add related products" here and save. Then the option to add the related product will appear.

Once the type of related product has been added, the option to add a related product will appear.   

After synchronizing the cash registers, a deposit will be charged for the sale of this product.

So if necessary, you can also create different deposit products with different amounts. These can then be linked to the correct bottles/cans.

About the "Related" tab

In this tab, related products can be linked to the product. When selecting this product in the cash register or in the invoicing, the products related to this product will be automatically added.  

Related products are often used for disposal contributions and deposits. Related products can also be used to not book the turnover and stock mutation on this product, but on the linked related products. If this product itself is used as a related product of another product, then related products cannot be linked to this product again. Example: If this product represents a 'Disposal contribution', then a related product 'Environmental surcharge' cannot be linked to this product again.

Setting what type of related products are linked to this product. The following types are available:

•None  

No related products are linked to this product.

•Book on related products, deduct quantity from main product

If this product is sold, the turnover should not be registered on this product, but the turnover is evenly distributed among the related products. The stock of the related products is also reduced by the number of units sold of this product. This product remains visible as a selected product and the stock of this product is also reduced.

•Books on related products, do not deduct quantity from main product

This type of related product works almost the same as the above option, except in this case the stock of the main product is not reduced.

•Add related products

Add the related products to the transaction being composed. The total price of the current transaction is increased by the price of all products that are automatically added.

•Package product

(Basic) packages can be created. The package can be further created and completed via the PDA (RetailVista Mobile).
