Article summary

With the help of this tool it is possible to add images to articles in bulk. The installation can be found at: http://clickonce02.nedfox.net/nedfox.retailvista.imageupload/publish.htm

If you see a windows defender box or antivirus box, please click "More Info" and then "Run Anyway".

After starting the application, the login details must be entered first (file -> configuration), these should be known to you. It is best to log in with your own username, so that you can see who added the images later.

Because the names of the files will be different for each supplier, templates can be created. In a template you indicate how RetailVista must “read” the file name in order to be able to import it. Below is an example of an image name in which the barcode is incorporated in the file name.

In the template you indicate that the file name is a type barcode. Because the file name does not only consist of the barcode, but also additional information, check “partial filename” (part of the file).

With “start position” you indicate the first character of the barcode, in this example it is position 4. With the “code length” (length of the code) you indicate how long the barcode is, in this case 13 characters. When you have entered all these details, click on “save settings”.

So as long as the image name has the barcode in it, and you specify in the previous window where the barcode starts, you will be able to upload the images to attach to the correct product via the unique barcode.

If the file name contains the order number, a “supplier number” (supplier numbers) must also be entered, which can be found in RetailVista. After all, the order number does not have to be unique and could be used by different suppliers.

You will now return to the main screen where you can now select the newly created template. At the field “images folder” (location of the images) you specify the folder where the images are stored, by means of the browse icon behind these lines allows you to select the folder. If you know the location, you can of course also enter it directly.

When all data has been entered, you can choose “upload images”.

In a new window the progress is shown and any error messages are displayed.
