How can I remove barcodes from RetailVista?

You can remove a barcode from a product as long as it was not created by an organization.

Delete a barcode

1. Open the product.
2. Navigate to the barcode you want to remove.
3. Select Delete.

Error message when deleting a barcode

When attempting to delete a barcode, you may see the following message:

What this means

This message indicates that the barcode is still linked to one or more discounts. 

• The discount may still be active.
• The discount may be old and no longer active. 
• Even inactive discounts can still contain a reference to the barcode.

Because of historical records, discounts cannot be deleted. Therefore, the barcode reference must be removed from the discount itself.

Removing the barcode from a discount

To resolve the issue:

1. Open the relevant discount.
2. Locate the Barcode field.
3. Clear the barcode field.
4. Save the discount.

Once the barcode is no longer linked to any discounts, you can return to the product and delete the barcode successfully.
