However, these purchase orders can be closed.Find the purchase order via Start -> Purchase Orders -> Purchase Order Maintenance
On the left side of the screen, choose 'Close purchase orders'.

These purchase orders will not be immediately visible in the purchase order search screen.
You can also choose to close purchase orders in bulk via Start > Purchase Orders > Purchase Order Tasks > Close purchase orders.

Then, select one or more purchase orders and choose to close the selected purchase orders.

These closed orders can still be found.
If 'All' is clicked in the search screen next to 'Only open purchase orders', it is possible to search for these purchase orders as well.
