Deposits-Prepayments at the till
RetailVista has multiple ways to work with deposits. Within RetailVista these are called PrePayments. PrePayments are assigned to a SalesOrder.
When a salesorder has been created, all products attached to that salesorder are reserved from your stock. Your free stock figures will diminish with the amounts of those products. This is absolutely necessary if you want to have a good control system.
Within these sales orders the customer's details, the products they would like to receive, and if a prepayment is necessary (i.e. in advance of ordering the goods at your supplier(s) - if they aren't in stock) are recorded. When these goods arrive in your warehouse, a message will pop-up stating 'This products exists in an outstanding / open sale order, do you want to reserve the stock for that sale order?'
Multiple ways of creating a salesorder:
- Backoffice
- RetailVista Mobile X
- Till / RetailVista POS
In this article we will focus on how to create a salesorder in the till.
The following actions should be performed in the till screen:
- Scan the products of which a sales order must be created.
- Select the customer (or create it at the till)
- Now select the button 'Create sale order', or select 'Create sale order' from the administration menu.
- Fill in the details on the sales order.
- After selecting 'OK' the sales order is automatically created in the Backoffice, and a prepayment request has been made worth £ 250.00 (in the example above).
- Take note on the backoffice (below, module Sales Orders), stating: Prepayment request balance: £ 250.00
- The receipt printer automatically prints 2 receipts:
A. The sales order confirmation
B. The prepayment request. - The prepayment request contains a barcode which can be scanned by the cashier.
The prepayment above can be paid via cash or Chip & Pin (or any other payment type).
Once the payment has been completed, the customer receives the printed-out receipt.
In the Backoffice the prepayment has been stored and the balance the customer needs to pay (on pre-payments) is updated to £ 0.00.
