Hoe werkt de LaPosta nieuwsbrief integratie?

With the LaPosta newsletter integration in RetailVista, customer data is linked to LaPosta. Once the integration has been correctly configured, all customers with an email address will automatically be transferred to LaPosta. The integration with LaPosta is always based on the customer’s email address in RetailVista. For that reason, customers without an email address are skipped, as the integration cannot process them. Through the Task Planner, all data is synchronised between RetailVista and LaPosta every day at a scheduled time.

The following data is transferred from a RetailVista customer:

First name, surname
Company name
Language
Country - Based on the customer's default address
RFM group - Calculated RFM group

The RetailVista integration automatically creates a list in LaPosta for each supported language (if that list does not already exist), and customers with that language are added to the corresponding list. LaPosta currently supports Dutch, German, English, French and Spanish. For customers whose language is not specified in RetailVista, the company’s default language is used. For customers whose language is not supported by LaPosta, a fallback language setting can be used. For example, Flemish-speaking Belgian customers can have the fallback language set to “Dutch”, causing them to appear in LaPosta’s Dutch list. French-speaking Belgian customers can be given the fallback language “French”, placing them in the French list. For these Belgian customers, the language field will still show “Belgium”, allowing mailings to be filtered accordingly if desired.

RetailVista is considered the “single point of truth”: customer groups may be edited in RetailVista, and also in Nuvio if applicable. These are sent to LaPosta as read-only, and customer groups should not be edited directly in LaPosta. RetailVista also does not read back changes made in LaPosta. If any differences are detected, the customer groups from RetailVista are considered authoritative, and LaPosta will be updated accordingly. Because the customer groups are present in LaPosta, they can still be used for segmenting newsletter audiences.

By default, only contacts linked to at least one customer group marked for newsletter synchronisation are synchronised. This prevents synchronising all customers by default. An optional setting allows this behaviour to be changed so that all contacts (with an email address) are synchronised. Do keep in mind that the LaPosta subscription cost is based on the number of contacts stored.

Mutations

Any changes made in RetailVista to the data listed above are automatically updated in LaPosta.

Data fields

The integration automatically creates all required data fields in LaPosta, provided they do not already exist. Newly added fields appear at the bottom of the list. Within LaPosta, the order of these fields can be rearranged by moving them up or down. This has no effect on the data itself or on the functioning of the integration.

Source

For any contact in LaPosta created via the RetailVista integration, the source is recorded as “RetailVista”. Contacts created directly within LaPosta automatically receive the source “LaPosta”. All contacts whose source is anything other than “RetailVista” are ignored by the RetailVista integration; no data will be updated for them. This allows contacts or email addresses to be added to LaPosta, for example from a website form, without interfering with the RetailVista synchronisation.

Cleaning up

The RetailVista integration not only creates contacts in LaPosta but also removes them if they no longer exist in RetailVista. This only applies to contacts whose source is “RetailVista”. Contacts with any other source remain untouched by the integration.
