How can I find out in which transaction a gift card was sold (activated)?

Until the spring 2023 update, it has always been difficult to trace back through which transaction a gift card was activated. Starting from this update, the gift card screen has been slightly revised and a new tab 'Activation' has been added. In this tab, all activation data is visible, including the transaction number and the receipt number of the gift card with which it was activated for the first time.

Especially during migrations to RetailVista, it is possible that there are gift cards that have been activated without a corresponding transaction and receipt number. This is because the gift cards were taken over via a script, and not through the normal route of a cash sale or an invoice sale.
