It is possible in RetailVista to create discounts (product markdowns) for a specific barcode. In this case, a ViridiCode barcode must be specified as the specific barcode.

The example below shows the creation of a product markdown, specifying a specific ViridiCode barcode. Only products with that barcode are eligible for this discount.

It is possible that the ViridiCode barcode is not yet visible. This is due to the unique functioning of the ViridiCode, where plants can be sold without any action. At that moment, RetailVista does not yet know these barcodes and they are therefore not visible. There are two ways to still get the ViridiCode barcodes in RetailVista. The first is to manually add a barcode to the corresponding product (plant). The image below shows the addition of such a barcode to a plant.

The other option is preferred and involves processing an EDI packing slip message. This packing slip will contain the ViridiCodes, along with a purchase price. By processing the packing slip and printing labels once, the prices will be recorded in RetailVista as 'Price barcodes' for products. Now that the barcodes are available, they can be assigned as conditions for product markdowns.

The ViridiCode barcoding is a rather long barcode and therefore not very readable. An Ean13 barcode contains only 13 digits, making it easy to compare whether a barcode on the screen is the same as on the jar. To solve this readability problem, a 'Hash' code of 10 letters is used for the ViridiCode barcode. This code is a reduced version of the ViridiCode. This hash is displayed, for example, in the overview of discounts, and it is therefore highly desirable that this hash is also printed as text under the ViridiCode barcode on labels. The example below shows the hash of a ViridiCode, with a standard gross selling price of 15 euros set.

The functionality described above works well from RetailVista version 19.6 and higher. This version will be released around March 2019.
