How can I print a logo with the HP A799 Powered USB printer?
Control from RetailVista POS
This printer is EPSON compatible, so it can be controlled using the existing Epson control codes, for example, for the TMT88 III.
Placing a logo in the printer
The necessary drivers and tools for this printer (HP USB Receipt Printer) are located on the T drive at Nedfox and have also been added as binaries to this document.
The firmware tool is also intended for placing a logo in this printer.
Make sure that the firmware folder (after any updates (not necessary)) is removed (otherwise it will continue to install the firmware when you start the tool, and this only needs to be done once). You can also choose to only start the utility in the installation directory, which will prevent it from automatically executing the firmware flash.
Once this is done, the following steps can be followed. It is important that the logo is truly black and white, also known as monochrome. Any other logo type will be sent to the printer without any notifications/problems, but will never appear on paper. A tool for resizing the logo correctly has been added to this document, called LogoEZ.
Start up the Print Utility tool
Select Single station, click on Configure.
Select Print Configuration form 1, click on Send and the printer will print the settings
=> Communication is 'Ok'.
Select the option 'Miscellaneous', click on DLoad bmp.
Select the logo (a self-made logo using Paint in Black and White)
Click on send, the status box will display: <logoname> file size 22854
: Port1 download complete.
Then return to the option 'Single station', click on Configure.
Option 'Print all Logos', click on Send.
The printer will print 'No logos found', 1572854 Bytes logo flash available. After this, the logo will be in the printer and can be printed from the POS application.
