How does automatic printing of an order picking report work?
It is possible to automatically print picking lists / order picking reports from reservations that need to be picked. This functionality is part of the 'Sales Orders Plus' license.
In order to print automatically, at least a 'Bridge Client' must be installed and an A4 printer must be added via this client as a bridge printer in RetailVista. The installation of the bridge client is beyond the scope of this QA, separate documentation is available for this.
Starting from the spring 2022 update of RetailVista, it is possible to choose a bridge printer for printing the order picking report in store maintenance. A secondary printer can also be set so that the order picking report is printed on a possible second printer.
The screen below shows store maintenance in which two printers are assigned as order picking printers. In the same screen, the report must also be specified. By the way, it is also possible to automatically print picking lists that result from received products. If reservations are generated from the receipt (for products that customers have ordered via sales orders), those order picking reports can also be printed automatically. This concerns the 'goods in' printer and report.
It is possible to deviate from these settings per webshop. In this way, for example, each webshop can have its own order picking printer and/or layout.
Finally, it is possible to work with separate order picking printer and/or layout settings per pickup location. This allows reports for reservations with certain pickup locations to be printed on specific printers with possible specific layouts.
In order to automatically print reports, a task schedule must be created. This task schedule looks at reservations with the logistics status 'New'. For these reservations, a print task is created and the printed PDF is added as an attachment to this task. This can be seen in the 'Tasks' tab of a reservation. Once a task is created and successfully handled, the logistics status is automatically changed to 'Waiting for picking'. It is important that the logistics status is initially set to 'New', otherwise no report will be created. The initial value of the logistics status can be set via the sales order classification.
