How does the Belgian Ecocheque / dinnercheque (and other variants) work in RetailVista POS?
Since mid-2021, a dinner voucher has been added as a meal voucher variant in Belgium. The disadvantage of this type of voucher is that it is combined with a payment card that already has an eco voucher. By using that card, a customer must explicitly choose which type of voucher they want to use for payment.
Starting from RetailVista POS 22.1.8040, an integration with Banksys payment terminals has been made to support the processing of this type of vouchers through the payment terminal. In RetailVista, a type of voucher/card can be indicated as part of the payment method. From RetailVista 21.17 (fall 2021 release), there is a new field called 'Tag' under the 'Advanced' tab in the payment methods. This field will be renamed to advanced settings. In this field, a value can be specified for the EFT card voucher. The following values are currently possible:
200001# (lunch voucher)
200002# (eco voucher)
200003# (gift voucher)
200004# (sports culture voucher)
200005# (book voucher)
200006# (transport voucher)
200007# (consumption pass)
In essence, a separate payment method must be created for each type of voucher payment card!
Save this change, synchronize RetailVista POS, and restart it.
For customers who cannot yet work with the above POS version, a bug fix has also been made in RetailVista POS 20.6.7458.23112. In the local settings in POS, there is a field called 'Advanced settings'. In this setting, the value 'BanksysVicData-
An example of this advanced setting / tag value is:
BanksysVicData-E=200002#
This means that the payment method with shortcut 'E' can only be used for processing an Eco-Voucher.
An example of multiple advanced settings for multiple check payment cards is:
BanksysVicData-E=200002#;BanksysVicData-C=200007#
Where the payment method with shortcut E leads to the use of an Eco-Voucher and shortcut C to the use of a Consumption pass.
Please note: The shortcuts themselves cannot be used in RetailVista POS (touch version), we are only 'misusing' this field to make this functionality possible in an older POS version.
