How does the package assignment in POS work when importing a reservation?
If a reservation is associated with a shipping service, RetailVista POS will initiate the package assignment during the import of that reservation. However, if no shipping service is associated, the advanced setting 'RunParcelService=1' can be used to force the package assignment to start during reservation import.
As part of initiating the package assignment, a question is asked to determine if package assignment is desired. This question can be disabled, causing the package assignment screen to automatically start. This can be done using the advanced setting 'ParcelServiceQuestion=0'.
Finally, it is possible to configure POS in such a way that no question is asked about packages and (if package assignment is applicable) a single default package is always created. This can be done using the advanced setting 'CreateSingleParcel=1'. This will create one package with the specified shipping service and carrier from the transport definition of the reservation.
