Article summary

Webshop orders result in reservations, and these reservations are imported into RetailVista POS. The cash register environment checks during the import of a reservation whether a deposit has been made and tries to take over the total value of the reservation from the deposits. If a webshop order has been fully paid in advance and the order has not changed (become more expensive) in the meantime, there will always be enough deposit value available to pay for the reservation.

By working in this way, the total amount still to be paid will be 0.00 euros when rejecting this transaction. A webshop order therefore has no effect on the amount of money in the cash register and will therefore not result in a cash discrepancy.

The turnover of the imported reservation does become part of the store's turnover. The turnover is linked to the webshop it originates from, but this type of turnover is simply printed on the day or period count.

From a statistical point of view, it is advisable to create a separate type of turnover called 'Webshop'. It is preferable to also use a separate cash register that is set to work with that fixed type of turnover. In addition, the number of payment methods on such a cash register can also be reduced to only one payment method (cash), with the minimum and maximum amount set to 0 euros. This way, the reservations of sales orders are always booked under the turnover type 'Webshop', and it is also not possible to reject transactions where an amount is still owed. In such a situation, the amount to be paid would be greater than 0, and by setting the maximum value of the cash payment method for this cash register to 0 euros, the cash register will refuse this payment method.A consumer must first pay the additional amount and only then can the reservation be imported and closed.

There are situations where a customer wants to pay the remaining amount upon delivery at the door. For these situations, RetailVista supports cash on delivery shipments and an additional payment method 'Cash on delivery' can be created. By using the issuance application in RetailVista Mobile, it will clearly indicate that issuance is only allowed in combination with a remaining cash on delivery payment. The received cash on delivery amount must be deposited by the driver in RetailVista POS to prevent a cash discrepancy.
