The connection between the POS and the terminal is done via TCPIP, so a serial port is no longer necessary. To communicate with the terminal, it is necessary to determine the terminal's IP address.

Once the text 'Opstarten' or 'Startup' appears on the screen, the following key combination must be entered: * # and press 'Ok' 3 times.

DHCP: click on Display Info, Communication. Note the displayed IP address. Press 'Stop' repeatedly until the text 'Buiten gebruik' appears.

Static IP address: Click on Manager Menu, password 99999. Go to Configure, Terminal, Communication, TCP/IP, Static IP address, Terminal IP address. Enter an IP address and choose subnet mask and gateway in the menu. Finally, press 'Stop' repeatedly until the text 'Buiten gebruik' appears.

In the PC's firewall, create an opening for TCP ports 4102 and 4103. TCP port 4100 is used for communication from the PC to the EFT terminal. It is recommended not to place a firewall on outgoing traffic on the PC, so that all outgoing ports are available.

Now log in to RetailVista and create (if not already present) a CCV OPI payment terminal with the following settings. The COM port settings are irrelevant for this type of terminal, as anything entered there will be completely ignored. It is expected that in a future release of RetailVista, these fields will no longer be displayed for this type of terminal.

Now go to POS terminals and select the POS terminal that needs to establish a connection with the CCV820. Enter the previously noted IP address in the EFT 1 IP address field.

The code 452395325 from the example below is the reference code of the EFT terminal and is included in the cash accountability journals. If the CCV820 terminal has a clear number on the outside, it can be useful to enter that number as the reference code in the screen below. The EFT terminal will then be easily recognizable in the cash accountability.

Now create a payment method of type 'EFT' and test if the integration works by selling a product. It is important to synchronize and restart RetailVista POS.

Pay attention to the progress notifications and make sure that an EFT receipt is printed for an electronic payment. If it doesn't work, even though the payment is approved, the Windows firewall may be closed. The CCV 820 terminal will then not be able to send progress information to the PC.

If the integration does not work, logging can be enabled in the payment terminal maintenance. The logfile can easily be used to identify what goes wrong in the communication.
