How to deal with allocated stock in combination with inventory?
An important point in inventory is that all inventory must be counted. It is not always clear which products are in allocated inventory, and when printing a discrepancy list, the count is compared to the actual inventory. The actual inventory also includes the allocated inventory (which only affects a lower free inventory, not the overall available inventory). If the allocated inventory is not counted, it will be immediately visible as a difference between the counted inventory and the actual inventory.
When transferring inventory, the difference is calculated between the total counted number of units per product and the actual inventory. The difference is then applied as a correction to equalize the actual inventory with the counted inventory.
Generally, after transferring, the inventory that was not counted is set to 0. However, products that only had allocated inventory, for example, are still counted and will not be set to 0.
