To import products with the correct classifications during an Exchange Excel import, the code/external code of the lowest classification must be known and added to the Excel document in a column.
For example, to import products in the classification below, the code of the classification houtskoolbarbecues 18100 is needed. In this case, it is 18100 (image 1). These can be found via administration -> article classifications.
Barbecues BA - Coal barbecues BAHO -> houtskoolbarbecues 18100
Below is an example of a simple Excel document with the classifications listed.
During the import, only the column needs to be assigned as the "Smart classification 3 code".
If this is known, RetailVista also knows what classification 1 and 2 should be.
This way, existing products can also be easily placed in the correct classifications. Make an export of the desired products via start -> products -> export products and adjust the classification code or add a column with the correct classification.
