You can perform this update on:
SQL Server 2012 (11.x) SP4 or higher download 2012 SP4

SQL Server 2014 (12.x) SP3 or higher

SQL Server 2016 (13.x) SP3 or higher

SQL Server 2017 (14.x)

SQL Server 2019 (15.x)
Select the English language and download the setup.
Open the downloaded file.

Select custom setup.
If the language setting for SQL Express is different from the language selected in Windows, you will receive the following message.
Click 'Yes'



Select a directory to save the downloaded files, then click 'Install'.

The files will be downloaded, then the following screen will open.

Select 'Upgrade from a previous version of SQL Server'.

Accept the license terms and click 'Next'
Then a few checks will be performed

If all the checkboxes are green, the setup will continue.
If important components are missing, the setup will not proceed.


NOTE!!
The correct instance to update should be 'RETAILVISTAPOS'.
Click 'Next'



The update will then start, wait until it is completed.



Update is successful if you see this screen and all checkboxes are green.
Click 'Close'
And close the 'SQL Server Installation Center' screen.The update is ready.
