Modifying label layouts

Article summary

If you want to make changes to your labellayout you can choose to do this via the NedFox support department. Alternatively, you can do it yourself.

In RetailVista Backoffice, go to:

Administration -> Labels -> Labeldefinitions

Select the layout you want to edit by double clicking on it. The following screen is displayed:

Layout 'Shelf Edge label 80x39mm, 1pce' is selected above.

The following information is displayed or selected in tab 'General':

  • Description: 'Sato Shelf Label 80mm x 38mm, 1 pce'
  • Label type: In this label it is a product label with product information.
  • Thermal printer language: SATO GL408e
  • Label class: empty
  • Horizontal labels: 1  (this is the number of horizontal labels on the roll).
  • Print descriptions: yes (product descriptions/information will be printed on the label)
  • Track and Trace label: no
  • Cancelled: no (if yes, this layout won't be displayed under 'Label definitions'
  • The fields 'property x': no

The following information is displayed or selected in tab 'Start printing':

- The information on this tab is part of the printer language. You can keep this the way it is filled in for this printer.

The following information is displayed or selected in tab 'Start label':

-mThe information on this tab is part of the printer language. You can keep this the way it is filled in for this printer.

The following information is displayed or selected in tab 'Start label':

- This tab actually contains the label layout. You will see all coordinates of the specific layout.

The way coordinates are interpretated by the printer can be different for each printer type / printer language.

See the image below:

Hxxx = horizontal coordinates
Vxxx = vertical coordinates

In the label information above, tab 'Label' you will see the following information from the product:

H0190 + V0005 = Description
H0190 + V0050 = Note 1
H0190 + V0070 = Note 2
H0190 + V0090 = Note 3
H0190 + V0110 = Note 4

As you see in the example above Description, Note 1, Note 2, Note 3 and Note 4 will start at the same horizontal position (H0190)

Furthermore:

H0220 + V0200 = Barcode
H0595 + V0220 = Price

And finally:

H0210 + V0170 = Date this label is printed
H0380 + V0170 = Product code (product number)
