The minimum system requirements for RetailVista POS at the moment is Windows 10 (any version) with 8GB RAM. The size of the hard drive is not very important anymore: The RetailVista software takes up a few hundred megabytes. And the SQL Server database that is used takes up several gigabytes depending on the number of products. In practice, Windows itself does not function well when there is only a few gigabytes of remaining disk space. But now that hard drives of 100 to 200 GB are the standard and no other software is installed on cash register PCs, there will always be enough remaining disk space alongside the Windows OS installation in this case.

We follow the Microsoft Windows support and end-of-life policies. As soon as a given Windows version is no longer active supported by Microsoft, we will shift from normal support to paid support in case of issues related to the end of life Windows version. Of course we will ask you upfront if you agree on paid support. Besides of this, on end of life versions we cant guarantee we always can fix a possible issue. The minimum amount of memory and the minimum processor do have a relationship with the size of the product file. It is clear that a product file with 1000 products requires less system requirements than a product file with 2.5 million products. For a product file with 2.5 million products, we recommend a minimum of 16GB of memory.

Having a touchscreen is not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended. It is possible to work without it, but the speed and user-friendliness increase significantly when a touchscreen is available. The minimum resolution also depends on the screen design but is technically at least 1024*768.

A reliable antivirus solution must be installed on a cash register PC, preferably in combination with Bitdefender or SentinelOne. NedFox provides a remote security and monitoring solution that takes care of the entire management and monitoring. This can be done for cash register PCs, but if desired, also for all other workstations.
