Refund on a RetailVista gift card
A refund can be a (remaining) balance of a returned gift card that a customer will no longer use or it can be because the customer wants their money back after returning an item. Below, it is explained in steps how this can be achieved within RetailVista.
Step 1
Go to the "Gift card definitions" in the RetailVista back office and check the option "Allow cash refund" for the gift card definition to which this applies.
Step 2
Go to the "Gift card types" in the RetailVista back office and check the option "Allow money refund" for the gift card type to which this applies.
Step 3
Create a product button in the touch screen designer.
Set the "SaleQuantity" to -1 and enter the barcode of the gift card product as it is listed in the product maintenance for the "Barcode" option.
The text on the button can be entered at your own discretion.
Once the above is done, the layout can be saved and then assigned to the poster terminal group in the RetailVista backoffice.
Step 4
After the button is created, it can now be selected on the cash register screen.
When selecting the button, the following screen will be displayed:
By scanning the gift card, the value (refund value) of the card will be displayed on the screen.
You can choose to refund it in full to the customer or in part.
After choosing "OK", the following will be displayed on the sales screen:
Then you can proceed to the payment screen and the transaction can be processed.
