RetailVista integration with Sirv.com CDN provider.

RetailVista has an integration with CDN providers starting from the spring 2023 update. The first implementation has been made with Sirv.com.

With a CDN, the images are no longer stored in RetailVista but in an external system that is better equipped to deliver image data to various platforms. The exchange of images that used to take place is no longer necessary with a CDN. Only a Uri (Url) is exchanged between the systems. With this Uri/Url, the image can be requested when it is actually needed.

To be able to use a CDN, a basic 'CDN integration' license is required, along with an interface to a CDN provider, in this case 'Sirv.com'.

An integration with Sirv requires an API key and client secret. The required API key and client secret can be requested in Sirv through the settings of Sirv. There is a section 'REST API Access'. Below shows an example of a created API client 'RetailVista' with a client ID and client secret created by Sirv.

Within RetailVista, a CDN provider must now be created. This is done through the 'Providers' table. Below is an example of a Sirv provider configuration.

In the 'Advanced' tab, the Client Id and Client secret from Sirv must be copied, along with the URL through which the images can ultimately be viewed. The WebUrl is customer-specific and depends on the URL chosen when creating an account at Sirv.com.

Finally, it is important to select the created CDN provider in the 'Advanced' tab of the article configuration.

With these settings, images that are uploaded in the product maintenance (or from outside via the image upload software) will now be automatically forwarded to Sirv. The images and thumbnails will no longer be stored in RetailVista itself, the source is Sirv. The above settings can be tested by checking if an image actually ends up in Sirv.

NedFox has the ability to move all existing images to Sirv at once, please contact our support desk if desired. In the future, this upload will happen automatically when the CDN license is detected and the settings are correct.
