Credit notes/Printing credit vouchers - If items are returned and a negative balance remains, it is possible to automatically print a credit note with a barcode. This voucher can then be used as payment, for a subsequent purchase in the store, using the barcode.
How to create a giftcard type voucher
Navigate to --> Administration --> Promotional --> Gift card types
Create a new record like below and save the record.
Create payment method credit voucher
Administration --> Point of Sale --> Payment types
Create a new payment type 'Return voucher'
Ledger: Select the nominal ledger number for credit vouchers here/
(if you are not working with ledgers/accounting integration you can keep this field empty)
Payment method: Select gift card integration here.
Gift card type: Select the gift card type that has just been created, here.
Save the record.
Create giftcard definitions
Administration --> Promotional --> Gift card definition
Fill in the number of expiry days and maximum transactions as '365'.
Make sure the description is identical, so: Return Giftcard.
Save the record.
Giftcard integration settings
Extra --> Settings --> Giftcards - General tab
Set "IsEnableGiftCard" to 'Yes' and save.
Extra --> Settings --> Giftcards - RetailVista tab
Set "IsCreateGiftCardReturnedGoods" to 'Yes' and save.
Set "PosReturnGiftCardDefinitionI" to the newly created 'Return Voucher' and save.
Set "PosReturnGiftCardPaymentTypeId" to the newly created 'Return Voucher' and save.
Fill in a giftcard number range in "NewGiftCardNumberRange" to '1000 - 5000' and save.
Create product credit voucher return
Start --> Products --> Product maintenance - General tab
Create a new product.
Product credit voucher return, without VAT and without sales value.
Select Next.
Complete the details like below.
Select the sales tab.
Deselect the checkbox 'Sale product'.
Change producttype to 'Giftcard'.
Change giftcard type to 'Return voucher'.
Deselect the checkbox 'Include in stock value'
Now, when returning items, you can choose 'Return voucher' as a payment type.
Instead of giving money back to the customer you are now able to print the voucher. The barcode on the voucher is scannable at the till.
For redemption: At the till the operator scans the barcode on the voucher after the goods have been added. Amount to be redeemed can be chosen simply. Change can be allowed if the voucher is set up to do so.
