Since the January 2020 update it is possible to add points to a savings or loyaltycard after the original sale took place. Of course: It was already possible to add points to a card via the backoffice of RetailVista.
But from now on you can also have the till ask at the end of each transaction if the transaction was a loyalty transaction and/or, if you want a code added to the receipt which the cashier can use on the next visit of the customer to add the points at that moment to the card.
To enable deferring of points to a card you will need the license: 'Deferring loyaltypoints'. Deferring points will only work if your loyalty system is set-up as 'points' type. You can ask your contactperson at NedFox on the costs of this license.
After the license has been set-up and the license has been updated via the backoffice, you should configure the settings.
Configuring deferring of Loyalty Points
-> Extra -> Settings -> Loyalty
'DeferredLoyaltyCardType'; select the name of the loyalty card you are using via the pulldown box + save.
'DeferredLoyaltyDaysValid'; select the number of days it may take before a customer visits the store again to add points afterwards + save.
'DeferredLoyaltyQuestionOnAbsentLoyaltyCard'; if set to 'yes' RetailVista POS will ask after each transaction where no loyalty card has been scanned if this is a deferred transaction. If set to no, RetailVista POS won't ask questions.

Finalising a transaction in RetailVista POS
When processing a customer in the till, where no loyalty card has been scanned during the transaction, RetailVista POS will ask if you want to Defer points (from a previous transaction), or if you want to scan a loyalty card after all.
Cancel: This will make this screen disappear and you are able to finish the transaction as usual, without a loyalty card.
Scan card: Allows you to scan a loyalty card afterall if the customer has a loyalty card already, or you wish to issue the customer with their first one.
Defer points: Allows you to defer points for a future transaction.
Defer points when customer forgot his/her loyalty card
On the receipt which is printed now at the end of the transaction you will see the savings (points) the customer could have made in that transaction. In the example below : 21.0 points.
A statement will be displayed how much days the deferring-code is active. Finally you'll see the 'defer-code' displayed on the receipt (in this example: VZF9YZDQ)
Adding the deferred points to the loyalty card
When the customer visits the store again, they might provide you with the receipt containing the deferred points. Select the button 'Claim deferred loyalty earnings' or select this option from the menu, under 'Sales'.
In the next screen ('Deferred loyalty transaction'), fill in:
- Card number (scan customers loyalty card)
- Receipt barcode (scan the barcode which is on the receipt)
- Complete the Deferral hash code (on the receipt)
Select OK.
At this stage the points are added to the loyalty card of the customer. Now you can process the transaction/customer as normal. As you can see from the backoffice, loyalty card #1001 now contains a value of 21 points.
