Switching Between Integrated and Standalone Modes
The PaymentSense terminals allow us to switch to standalone mode if required. To do this, you can follow the directions below.
(Passwords can be specific to each business so if the passwords required when prompted do not work, please call or email support.)
Standalone mode
Standalone mode allows the cashier to type in the amount a customer needs to pay on the cardmachine itself, instead of having the amount from the till go to the card-machine automatically.
You want to use this when the connection between the till and card machine is not working. (i.e. RetailVista POS gives a(n error) message about not being able to connect to the card machine when starting a transaction.
Get the card machine in standalone mode
On the card machine:
- Press F4
- Typ in the password: 123456 + enter (Password can vary)
- Now press the option for standalone mode = F4 (Pin Pad model can vary - select the button under Standalone)
- Press Cancel until you are back in the main screen
- The terminal will now restart itself. After that you can operate the terminal manually/standalone
Get the card machine in integrated mode
With integrated mode = ON, RetailVista is able to send the amount due immediately to the card machine. When the issue with PaymentSense has been resolved and the card machine can be used again to work in integrated mode.
On the card machine:
- Press F4
- Typ in the password: 123456 + enter
- Now press the option for standalone mode = on (I believe F1)
- Press Cancel until you are back in the main screen.
- The terminal will now restart itself. After that you can operate the terminal integrated mode.
After changing from/to stand-alone or integrated mode you might need to close RetailVista and start RetailVista again
