This document describes which functionality RetailVista POS supports in the integration with Piggy. A separate document is available here for configuring Piggy.
Saving and redeeming
The most basic functionality of a loyalty system: earning points and redeeming them. In Piggy, redeeming a balance does not take place through a standard discount, but through rewards. These rewards can be configured within Piggy (see the configuration document mentioned at the beginning of this article).
In the loyalty card type a minimum value for redemption can be defined.
In this example the minimum value is 100 cents, meaning 1 euro. Once this balance is reached, the cashier will immediately see the rewards screen after scanning the customer card, as a reminder that points can be redeemed. In this rewards screen the cashier can activate one or more rewards, thereby redeeming the savings balance. In the next image two rewards have been activated; these are two different types of rewards, which are explained below.
Types of rewards
There are two possible types of rewards:
- A fixed discount amount, for example 1, 2, 5 or 10 euros in the example above
- A free product, such as a cup of coffee (for 100 points)
Whether a reward gives a free product or a discount amount depends on the configuration of that reward within Piggy. The attributes of a reward in the Advanced section are described in the configuration document. A free product can be configured as follows:
Here you see: 100 percent discount on a specific product, namely the product with barcode 9900000000103. This barcode is the link used to find the product in RetailVista.
How many points the reward costs is a fixed property of each reward in Piggy.
For a discount amount of 2.00 euros, the required number of points is set to 200, and the advanced attributes are configured as follows:
Vouchers
In addition to saving and redeeming points, it is possible to apply vouchers that provide a fixed discount amount on the entire transaction.
In Piggy, under Loyalty -> Promotions & vouchers, such promotions can be created. For each promotion, vouchers can be generated.
In the Advanced section a voucher_type_code can be entered. This must be a code of a promotion voucher type in RetailVista.
The following promotion voucher type can be linked by entering code 1234555 as the voucher_type_code.
In the promotion voucher type in RetailVista a fixed discount amount can be defined, in this case 3 euros. By scanning a voucher from this promotion at the POS, a 3-euro discount is automatically applied, as shown with example voucher VOD7I8UD4.
After finalizing the transaction the voucher is correctly marked as redeemed.
Please note: in Piggy a relationship (called a contact within Piggy) is required when redeeming a voucher. This can be done by scanning a customer card, or by linking a contact to the voucher in Piggy beforehand.
Relationship synchronisation
Every night relationships (contacts) are synchronised from Piggy to RetailVista so that these contacts are also known in RetailVista.
