What to do if RetailVista rejects an email address?
When creating or modifying an email address, RetailVista checks if the domain is capable of receiving emails. For example, if a domain does not have an MX record, the email address will never be able to receive mail and will be rejected. But also (unintended) errors in the MX configuration will result in rejection of email addresses.
There are various online tools to test email addresses. One of them is https://mxtoolbox.com/. These tools clearly indicate whether an email address is valid. RetailVista uses the same mechanism.
Update 2018/04/20: There appears to be a bug in the detection of email addresses. Addresses with an addition to the domain (after the @ sign) are marked as incorrect. An example of such an address is test@abc.domein.nl. This rejection is incorrect. This will be resolved through task 17292 and for the short term, we will not check the validity of email addresses. The check that is currently being skipped is available as a bugfix in the Retail3000 backoffice environment (bugfix 20180420). It can be placed where necessary upon request.
