Why are special characters not printed correctly on Post NL labels?
Update 8/12/2015: In the meantime, this has been incorporated into RetailVista version 15.40 and higher. A new version of LocalServices is also required, at least version 15.15.2.5820 or higher. No codepage should be set in the parcel service settings, the data from Post NL must be processed 1:1 by the print environment without conversions.
Furthermore, it is good to know that Post NL uses codepage 437 for both Dutch and international shipments. The choice of this codepage means that not all high-ascii characters can be printed correctly, it is simply a limitation of the codepage. Some characters (such as è) do not exist in codepage 437 and therefore still cannot be printed correctly.
Update 13/9/2016:
It seems that PostNL has switched from codepage 437 to 850. In addition, a bug has been identified when reprinting a label from Retailvista, where a conversion to codepage 437 was performed. This bug has also been fixed from RetailVista v16.23 and higher. There should still be no different codepage specified in the PostNL parcel service integration.
