Article summary

It may happen that a carrier goes missing after being used in the order picking process.
Often it will eventually resurface, but if someone has already unpacked items from it in the meantime, the underlying reservation is unlikely to result in a successful delivery.

In addition, the carrier remains in use for RetailVista because there are still goods associated with it administratively.

Both of these cause congestion in the logistics process. On one hand because there are fewer usable carriers left, and on the other hand because orders remain open.

If you are certain that the carrier cannot be found, or if it can be found but there are no items in it, it can be emptied for the system so that it can be reused. This action has two consequences:

- The carrier is disconnected from any outstanding reservation, the carrier is no longer in use for the system and can be reused;

- The picked reservation lines that were associated with the carrier of an unreleased reservation are marked as 'lost'. This indicates later that the goods have been lost in transit and ensures that a new order picking instruction is created.

In order to empty a carrier, it must first be known which reservation it is associated with.

If the order number or reference is known, they can be used to search for the respective reservations:

If only the carrier number is known, it can be searched for in the advanced tab:

It is advisable to search with 'Only open reservations' set to 'All' and 'Only logistics open' set to 'Yes'.

This will no longer display already delivered reservations, as they are not relevant to this process.

If the correct reservation has been found, open the details screen of the corresponding product:

On the 'Orderpicking' tab, you can now choose the option 'Pick again (lost carrier)':

Repeat this step for all products that you have lost.
