After navigating from RetailVista to the Pack & Ship website, or after logging in to the application directly via a browser, the main screen shown below will appear.

At the bottom left of the screen, there is a ‘Log out’ link that allows a warehouse employee to sign out of the Pack & Ship website.

At the bottom right of the screen, the environment and the user interface language can be selected. Environments are used to easily assign the correct printers without requiring any user intervention. It is important to select an environment; otherwise, the Pack & Ship website will not be able to print labels or any associated reports.

The number of environments required depends largely on the number of printers available within the shop and/or warehouse. For the Pack & Ship application, we recommend having at least one label printer per packing workstation for shipping labels, and optionally an A4 printer for packing slips if these also need to be printed.

An example configuration could be an environment named ‘Packing Station 1’, linked to the printers at that workstation. In the same way, a second environment such as ‘Packing Station 2’ can be created, associated with the printers available at that location.

Printing technology is based on the RetailVista ‘Bridge’ printing system. Printers that need to be accessed from the Pack & Ship website must be connected to RetailVista through the RetailVista Bridge client. More information about the Bridge software can be found in this help documentation.

Search for reservation

On the left-hand side of the main screen, you can start processing a reservation.

Carrier barcode Scanning a carrier barcode searches for the reservation linked to that carrier. This field may not be visible if the use of carriers has been disabled in the system settings.
Reservation number Entering a reservation number starts the processing of that reservation.
Item barcode Scanning an item barcode displays a list of open sales order reservations that include that item.
This option can be disabled by NedFox if collecting reservations via an item scan is not desired.

Add parcel to an already processed reservation

On the right-hand side of the main screen, there is an option to add additional parcels to a reservation that has already been processed. This can be useful if, after closing a reservation, it turns out that more boxes (colli) are required than initially expected.

Note: When multiple parcels are specified during packing, a multi-parcel shipment is created (provided that the chosen parcel service supports this). When additional parcels are added afterwards, these are no longer part of the original address labels. The original labels remain unchanged, whether they were single- or multi-parcel.

Reservation number: Entering a reservation number opens a follow-up screen, allowing one or more additional shipping labels to be added to that reservation.
