RetailVista LocalServices is the software that enables printing from RetailVista ERP, RetailVista Mobile, and RetailVista Pack&Ship. All of these applications are cloud-based, while the printers are located on-site. LocalServices provides the connection between the cloud and the local hardware. LocalServices has now reached end-of-life, and its successor is RetailVista Bridge.

This software is preferably installed on every PC connected to a local printer that needs to be accessible from the cloud. It is important that this PC remains powered on (logging in is not necessary). For network printers, it is recommended to select a PC within the network that is always on and has access to all network printers. RetailVista LocalServices should be installed on this PC so that all network printers are reachable.

Once the LocalServices software is installed, a traffic-light icon appears in the Windows system tray. A green icon indicates a correctly functioning connection to the cloud. A yellow icon means the connection is temporarily interrupted. A red icon indicates that the LocalServices Windows Service has stopped and needs to be restarted.
