RetailLink is the EDI platform of RetailVista. This platform connects RetailVista to the global EDI X400 network, which is a closed network accessible only via a paid subscription. When an order message is created in RetailVista for a supplier, it is ultimately sent through RetailLink.
RetailLink not only provides access to the EDI X400 network but can also send messages via standard email to suppliers who are not connected to the EDI network. The disadvantage and risk of this type of sending is that email messages can sometimes be marked as spam and therefore may not be visible to the supplier. This is in contrast to the EDI network, where spam does not occur due to the paid access, and guaranteed delivery is ensured.
RetailLink does more than just send messages to the EDI network—it also ensures that messages from suppliers are returned to RetailVista. This includes delivery notes and invoices, as well as purchase orders placed with suppliers.
