Article summary

To log in to RetailVista ERP, a browser is used. Start a browser of your choice (Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or FireFox).

The support URL (website link) is mentioned in the email you received from us when you purchased a license for RetailVista ERP. RetailVista runs in a so-called 'popup' mode. The big advantage of this is that various space-consuming parts of a browser disappear, and the application has the entire browser screen available. To be allowed to start a popup, the website needs permission for this once. The appearance of this notification differs per browser and sometimes even per browser version. Below is an example from Microsoft Edge indicating that a popup is blocked. By indicating in the popup confirmation screen that popups are always allowed from the specified website URL, this notification will not appear again.

After the popup dialog, the login screen below appears. The company number, username, and password are in the same email as the URL of RetailVista ERP. In the screen below, it is possible to change the language of RetailVista (Dutch, English, or German) and also to start a 'forgot password' link.

By default, the user logs in to the last location where the user was active last time, the location selected in the bottom left of the homepage. In practice, it may happen that a location is terminated, for example, because the activities have ended. This location is then ultimately no longer selectable and available. As a result, logging in at that moment also no longer works for those users who were last active at that location. By placing a | (pipe) symbol after the username, followed by the number of a location, you force RetailVista to log in to that location. In this way, the last active location is ignored, and the login takes place at the location number as specified in the username. This may be necessary once for cancellations. From that moment on, a user can log in normally again and select the desired location in the bottom left of the homepage.

The version number of RetailVista is displayed at the bottom of the login page, and below that is the IP address detected from where you are trying to log in. Via IP authorization, you can impose a restriction on the IP addresses from which it is possible to work with RetailVista.

Instead of having to enter the entire RetailVista ERP website URL each time, it is also possible, for example, to create a direct link to RetailVista on your Windows desktop. To do this, find a free spot on the desktop, right-click, and choose to add a shortcut. Then enter the website URL and give a description to the link, for example, 'RetailVista backoffice.' After saving this change, an icon will appear on your desktop, which, when clicked, will open a browser at the specified website address.

Starting from RetailVista 2024 and higher, it is possible to specify an 'alias' for your company in the company settings. This alias appears before the website address and ensures that it is no longer necessary (and therefore not possible) to enter a company number in the login screen. An example of an alias is 'garden center,' and the website address would then be, for example, https://gardencenter.retailvista.net/global. In the subsequent login screen, only the username and password need to be entered.

After logging in to RetailVista ERP, the main screen appears with all the components for which a license has been obtained.
