Article summary

With dynamic issuance locations, an issuance location can be automatically determined for each reservation that is created. This functionality regarding the assignment of an issuance location to a reservation is part of the reservation generation process. It can be started manually, but it is also executed when a certain status of a sales order is reached, depending on the settings in the corresponding sales order scenario. Additionally, the scenario must be set to split reservations per issuance location.

The calculation of an issuance location takes place through customizable article/inventory criteria. For example, if a product is available in a specified warehouse, this can lead to the assignment of a certain issuance location. There are quite a few possibilities to calculate various possible criteria through a structure and determine the issuance location accordingly.

For all ordered article lines that are converted into a reservation, the issuance location of that product is determined per line, in combination with the desired quantity. For example, if 2 unique pickup locations are generated from all calculated product lines, 2 reservations will be created, with the calculated issuance location specified for each reservation.

Dynamic issuance locations are used in situations where consumers can pick up orders at multiple places (addresses). However, it can also apply to reservations that need to be delivered, where it is desired that the reservations are collected at the correct locations where the products are located. In the emails and/or reports for consumers or delivery personnel, the issuance location is clearly stated per reservation.

If reservations are issued to consumers (whether in combination with the use of issuance locations or not), it is highly recommended to also use the issuance location on RetailVista Mobile. This application checks, among other things, whether enough has been paid in advance to be able to give the reservation to a consumer. In case of delivery, the same check can take place when loading a transport vehicle and then handing it over to the consumer's address. If there is not enough paid in advance, the consumer will have to make the payment at the cash register, or possibly at the door upon delivery, if the cash on delivery functionality of RetailVista ERP is used. The issuance application also notifies of a cash on delivery situation and will then record that the indicated cash on delivery amount has been paid.
