Add images to the touchscreen layout
This article describes how to add images to the touchscreen layout.
Adding 'Product details' to the touchscreen layout
Open the touchscreen layout you want to edit with the touchscreen designer.
Add the 'ArticleDetails' control to your layout (this will be renamed to ProductDetails).
Save the touchscreen layout to RetailVista.
After assigning the new layout to the tillgroup + synchronising of the till + restarting of the till (RetailVista POS only); RetailVista POS will display image's and product information after each product which is scanned.
Image specifications
Dimensions: 150x180 pixels
JPG or PNG (best would be transparent PNG files)
Adding images to buttons
It is possible to display images on buttons. To achieve this do the following:
Open the touchscreen layout you want to edit with the touchscreen designer.
Add the 'AddArticle' control to your layout (this will be renamed to AddProduct).
Select the newly added button (+ change the size/expand of the button)
On the right side of the touchscreen editor screen information about this button is displayed.
Add the RetailVista product number (or barcode).
In the ImageFile field, type in the exact location of the image + image name.
RetailVista will start looking in it's own 'program folder', which is c:\program files (x86)\NedFox\RetailVista POS\
You will need to create a folder called 'img' here - c:\program files (x86)\NedFox\RetailVista POS\
Save your images to this folder
It is best to get this how you want it on one till, before copying the folder to the other tills.
So, back to the image details;
Fill in / complete the ImageFile location, in our situation: img\89726.png (which is the actual file name within the img folder).
In the Text field, you can assign a description which appears under the button.
Save the touchscreen layout to RetailVista.
After assigning the new layout to the tillgroup + synchronising of the till + restarting of the till (RetailVista POS only); RetailVista POS will display the image's on the button.
Some tweaking on image- and button size might be needed to make it appear exactly as you wish.
