Create your own giftcards

This article describes how to create your own giftcards in RetailVista.

Giftcard type

Create a giftcard type of your own giftcard.

-> Administration -> Giftcard types

Click on the green "+" symbol to add a new giftcard type.

Description: Fill in the description of your giftcard

Giftcard type: Select "RetailVista"

Giftcard definitions

-> Administration -> Giftcard definitions

Click on the green "+" symbol to add a new giftcard definition.

Description: Fill in the description of your giftcard
Maximum transactions: You can fill in the maximum transactions of this giftcard or you can leave this empty
Expiry days: You can fill in the expiry days of the giftcard
Initial balance: You can fill in the initial balance of the giftcard, this can also be 0
Allow cash refund: Check this box if you want to allow cash refund
Ignore expiry date: Check this box if you want to ignore the expiry date

Product maintenance

-> Start -> Products -> Product maintenance

Click on the green "+" symbol to add a product.

This product has no VAT and no stock.

Click on "Next" to continue.

This product has classification level "No Turnover".

Go to tab "Sale".

Discounts allowed: Uncheck this box. On this product there are no discounts allowed.Sale product: Uncheck this box. This product has no turnover and is not a sale product.
Product type: Select "Giftcard"
Giftcard type: Select your own giftcard
Include in stockvalue: Uncheck this box. This product is not a stock item.

Click on the "Save" icon.

Payment types

-> Administration -> Paymenttypes

Click on the green "+" symbol to add a new payment type.

• Description: Fill in the description of your giftcard
• Short description: Fill in the short description
• Paymenttype: Select "GiftCard"
• Giftcard type: Select your own giftcard
• Followup number: Fill in a followup number for the right order of the payment screen on the till

Click on the "Save" icon.

Generate giftcards

-> Start -> Giftcards -> Generate giftcards

• Store: Select the correct store
• Giftcard definition: Select your the giftcarde definition
• Giftcard type: Select your own giftcard
• Cardnumber from: The first cardnumber that will be generated in this range
• Cardnumber to: The last cardnumber that will be generated in this range

Click on "Generate cards".

A green line will appear with the amount of giftcards that have been created.

Export giftcards to Excel

-> Start -> Giftcards -> Giftcards

Click on "Export giftcard production sheet" on the leftside of the screen.

Fill in the cardnumber range and click on "Export cards".

This excel file contains the cardnumber with the pincodes.

PLEASE NOTE: CONSULT ONE OF YOUR RETAILVISTA EXPERTS BEFORE HAVING THE CARDS PRINTED ON PLASTIC.

WE WANT TO BE 100% SURE THAT ALL CARDS ARE SCANNABLE IN ADVANCE.

ALSO : THE CARD-PRINTER SHOULD SUPPLY US WITH A PDF/TEST FILE, SO WE CAN TEST IF THE CARD WILL BE SCANNABLE IN THE TILL.
