In the Sales Orders module, all customer orders are recorded. Sales orders are sometimes also referred to as ‘customer orders’. Customer orders can be store orders, webshop orders, or orders submitted from other systems.

Once a sales order has been recorded, RetailVista provides very comprehensive sales order processing. The operation of sales orders is largely based on sales order scenarios. From a sales order, one or more reservations are created, allowing staff to pick the requested items. Eventually, a reservation is converted into a final sale, preferably via the Pack&Ship application. Revenue is then recognised, and stock levels are permanently reduced.

The very last step in the sales order process is the handover of the reservation to the customer, either for collection or delivery. Within the RetailVista Mobile environment, there is a dispatch application that handles this final part of the process.
