In RetailVista, it may occur that when a barcode is entered while adding an item, this is not possible.
In that case, the barcode is already in use by an item at the head office, and the following message will be displayed.

This can be resolved by searching for the item in product maintenance.
Under the Advanced tab, the branch and the branch type must be removed.

Next, enter the barcode of the product. Once the item has been found, it can be derived (made local).
Derivation can be done, for example, by making a mutation to the item or by printing a label for it.
