Article summary

Cash on delivery productWhen a reservation is processed as cash on delivery in RetailVista POS, an additional (negative) line is added to the sales transaction with the amount to be paid as cash on delivery. The product specified here is used as the item for that line.
PickupIf a package service is marked as 'pickup', then this package service will not be visible when making a reservation if that reservation has a transport type of 'Delivery'.
ExpiredIf a package service is expired, it will no longer be shown as an option when registering new packages.
Synchronize carriersThis option is only intended for SendCloud and ensures that the available carriers are updated immediately. Normally, this is done every night via the task scheduler, but if there is a contract change at SendCloud that cannot wait a day, updating it immediately will ensure that the mutation is immediately visible.

*1 - In order to use a certain type of package service, additional licenses are required. SendCloud is a 'broker', this party offers a whole range of common 'carriers' with which packages can be sent. This also depends on the contracts that have been concluded with SendCloud. The RetailVista package service results in an internal package service label with internal track & trace numbers. The great advantage of this package service is that it makes it possible for each package to receive a shipping label, whether the package is sent, delivered with its own transport or picked up.

In the 'Carriers' tab, the actual parties and the types of shipments supported are visible. This tab is currently only applicable to SendCloud integrations. These carriers are automatically updated every night via the task scheduler. In addition, new carriers are added, but are marked as not available by default. Carriers that are no longer available from SendCloud are changed to 'not available'. This approach prevents a new type of carrier added by SendCloud from automatically becoming visible in the Pack & Ship application. The application administrator must consciously choose to release a package carrier for use.

By default, only the available carriers are shown in this overview, and only the non-expired carriers. After the very first synchronization and setup of SendCloud, no carriers will be shown by default, because all added carriers are immediately marked as not available. Therefore, it is important to select carriers that should be available in the pack & ship application after the first synchronization.

The following fields are available:

  • <>CodeUnique. Code from SendCloud of the carrier. Do not change this code, as it is the interface! This code is also used when registering packages to indicate to SendCloud that this carrier is desired.<>
  • <>Min Kg. Minimum weight in Kg that can be specified in the Pack & Ship application
  • <>Max Kg. Maximum weight in Kg that can be specified in the Pack & Ship application
  • <>Default weight in Kg. Default weight in Kg should be suggested in the Pack & Ship application. In many cases, specifying the actual weight is not necessary. However, it is the responsibility of the packing staff not to choose a carrier whose actual weight of a shipment does not fit within the carrier's range. Weight is mandatory. By activating this field, a user is forced to enter the weight of a shipment in the pack & ship application
  • <>Cash on delivery. By activating this field, this carrier will be shown when registering a cash on delivery shipment
  • <>Available. This field is mutated by the nightly SendCloud synchronization, it is recommended not to manually change this field.
  • <>Expired. By marking a carrier as expired, it will no longer be visible in the pack & ship application, even if it

In the 'Notifications' tab, you can find several settings regarding customer notifications.

    The following fields are available:

Email templateThe email template to use (of type 'package') when sending an email message
Send message to customerSend an email message to this customer
The idea behind this field is that a parcel service that is not integrated (for example, a local carrier) can receive an email message when a shipment is created that needs to be handled by this carrier. The package service type will most likely be 'RetailVista' so that an internal shipping label can still be printed.
CRM rule typeThis type is used when creating a CRM rule for the customer specified above.

In the last tab 'Advanced', you can find the less commonly used settings. The content of most of the fields below is described in specific configuration documentation for the desired type of parcel service.

    The following fields are available:

    Code page
    Encoding
API URLThe website URL used to communicate with the parcel service.
Click-through URLThis is the click-through URL as displayed in the product view in the reservation maintenance screen. Some variable data can be placed in this link. The following variable data fields are currently supported:
{zipcode}Postal code of the address where the shipment is being sent
{barcode}The track & trace barcode received from the courier service

Advanced settingsDepending on the type of courier service, it may be necessary to specify one or more advanced settings.
