In maintenance package services, parties can be registered that are responsible for the shipment of packages. A reservation can be submitted to a package service, upon which the package service will respond with one or more shipping labels and Track & Trace codes.

Synchronize carriers | This option is only intended for SendCloud and ensures that the available carriers are updated immediately. Normally, this is done every night via the task scheduler, but if there is a contract change at SendCloud that cannot wait a day, updating it immediately will ensure that the mutation is immediately visible. | ||||||
*1 - In order to use a certain type of package service, additional licenses are required. SendCloud is a 'broker', this party offers a whole range of common 'carriers' with which packages can be sent. This also depends on the contracts that have been concluded with SendCloud. The RetailVista package service results in an internal package service label with internal track & trace numbers. The great advantage of this package service is that it makes it possible for each package to receive a shipping label, whether the package is sent, delivered with its own transport or picked up.
In the 'Carriers' tab, the actual parties and the types of shipments supported are visible. This tab is currently only applicable to SendCloud integrations. These carriers are automatically updated every night via the task scheduler. In addition, new carriers are added, but are marked as not available by default. Carriers that are no longer available from SendCloud are changed to 'not available'. This approach prevents a new type of carrier added by SendCloud from automatically becoming visible in the Pack & Ship application. The application administrator must consciously choose to release a package carrier for use.
By default, only the available carriers are shown in this overview, and only the non-expired carriers. After the very first synchronization and setup of SendCloud, no carriers will be shown by default, because all added carriers are immediately marked as not available. Therefore, it is important to select carriers that should be available in the pack & ship application after the first synchronization.
